i need help starting with gfx

I'm trying to get started with graphics but I can't find out where to start. I can't use OpenGL because I don't have a SLOW computer with no 3D support whatsoever and I can't start DirectX because I don't want to and can't download the huge SDK thats over 150mb.

by no choice of your own you coincidentally have _the_ perfect system for DJGPP / Allegro... congratz, all my complaining about DJGPP / DOS / and the like have paid off... far into the future, by a member we did not know in the Old Board...
