I don't know how they expect to compete, at that price. Other than the fact that Apple fanboys/girls/other will pay it, I don't see it being especially successful.

@Elkvis: Agreed. I was reading that article and I gather that the sound quality is supposed to be great, but the sound quality is also great on the full-size Echo, which is basically half the price.
I'm not sure I understand the appeal of yelling things at a single speaker, and listening to music in mono again? Why?
