    Just ask it.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

This seems like a question for your ISP.
Did they provide you with a router, or did you buy your own.

Which router do you have (make / model )?

Which OS are you running (I'm guessing windows).

My first guess would be your DNS lookup is either broken or badly configured.

When things seem to be in the half-working state (google yes, yahoo no), try following these steps to flush the DNS cache. Does that break everything, or make everything work?

Perhaps point your router DNS config to OpenDNS (read about it at OpenDNS - Wikipedia)
This might be worth doing if your router points to your ISP's DNS server, which may be underpowered.
