GCC 4.02 versus 4.2- Speed Increase?

I have a C script running on Red Hat Fedora Core 4 with GCC version 4.0.2-8.FC4.

Wondering if there will be a bump in the compile speed if I upgrade to GCC version 4.2 ?

    thank you

    C script?!!??!

    why don't you try it?

usually, later versions means more features so maybe not. But it shouldn't be that much a difference.
