Hi guys,
I was looking for a decent but free application for laying out my classes in a UML diagram as i believe it can help improve my program and classes design. Anyone using such thing or know about any? I looked around but found only one that needs KDE which i don't use.

Hi Salem, just gave it a try, it seems quite nice, but i was hoping for something that would have C++ options and such, all those java thingies make my brain a bit confused. I don't know how to declare const data members, const functions, virtual functions, etc...
But other than that it's a great tool. If only such a thing exists for C++...

Just noticed there are modules for C++, will give them a try and will post back my results.

There is also Dia but I don't really care for it.
Sun is suppose to be releasing some tools (Java based I guess).
Apparently there are also Eclipse tools (mentioned in the above article).
I used to be really into that stuff 10 years ago. UML, database layout tools and all that jazz. Halfway decent for documentation with pretty pictures, not so good for design work if you ask me.

you could always install the kdelibs and use this program in the window manager/desktop manager of your choice.
Thanks for the suggestion codie, i'll look into it. I'm not a really big fan of UML stuff but i though t it could help me with all the classes relations and so. Anyway i might try Dia that you pointed out.
hmmm, i hate kdelibs, they suck imo, i think they are nothing but bloatware. So i prefer to try another approaches or maybe even leave the matter alone and forget using UML for helping with design. I appreciate your tip but i really don't like anything kde-related, it's just a personal thing that's all

honestly i cant even begin to understand that attitude. but i guess to each his own, thats what linux is all about.
well, if i prefer not to use something because i don't want to install what is imho 'crappy software' or 'crappy libraries' i guess that's fully up to me. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
