Unhappy SuSE 8.1 and nvidia drivers

I'm having a problem with the sound and video on SuSE 8.1. I have onboard GeForce 4 and nforce 2, but SuSE will not recognize them. I've tried installing the drivers needed for SuSE but for some reason it's not working. If you need more details, let me know. I'm not exactly sure what the deal is, but my friend can explain better if you need more info.

I'm not sure if it works on the onboard GF, but the drivers from the nVidia website should work for any nVidia card.
As for the onboard sound. If it's set up to use ALSA, download the latest drivers, libs, firmware, and anything else, and then untar, ./configure, make and make install.
That's how I got my sound to work after I screwed up one of the config files and reinstalling from YaST wouldn't work.

IDE: emacs + make + gcc and proud of it.
