Unhappy Linux cannot connect to internet

I have tried everything but still this LINUX machine doesn't connect to the internet.
I try to connect to my isp through KPP but it gives me error as shown below:

    Nov 8 06:13:35 localhost pppd[1229]: pppd 2.4.0 started by root, uid 0
    Nov 8 06:13:35 localhost pppd[1229]: Using interface ppp0
    Nov 8 06:13:35 localhost pppd[1229]: Connect: ppp0 <-- > /dev/ttyS1
    Nov 8 06:14:05 localhost pppd[1229]: LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests
    Nov 8 06:14:05 localhost pppd[1229]: Connection terminated.
    Nov 8 06:14:05 localhost pppd[1229]: Exit.

I have given "pause 3" in the login script tab of KPP. If i don;t give that pppd gives termination 15 as the error.

    PLZ help me !!!!
    Thanx

    Be HAPPY
