    Linux GUI Design

GUI design is probably the most challenging aspect of creating a computer program ( in my opinion ) so I want to know, what makes a good Graphical User Interface in the Linux community.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions about books to read or net sites that cover Interface Design it would be of greate help.

    Thanks,

I took a class in UI Design. Changing an OS doesn't really effect the rules to making a good UI. Basica ideas is, anything at the bottom is expendable, top-left is the most important part, no more than 7 menu items, keep everything organized and color coded, and try to use graphics aswell as words for everbody.
