    booting redhat linux

    i have linux 6.0 and wheniboot it after clearig off some booting stuff witht eh {ok} things it stops at
    /dev/hdb5 was not cleanly unmounted, check forced
    i think this is becuas elast time i used it i tried starx to start x windows the the scree ****ed up and i couldnt reboot so i killed the computer. (no im trying to boot linux to run xconfig)

    If you don't shutdown properly then Linux will run fschk (filesystem check) just like windows does when it's not shutdown properly. This can be eliminated by using a journaling filesystem like ext3, reiserfs, or jfs. Just let it do its thing and try not to shut it down improperly.

    oh ok, so it WAS doing something not just sitting there. its hard to tell that with linux. like on the first long intallin screen when i instaleld linux it said making ext2 file and sat there for almost an hour, maybe more. i was about to think it ****ed up. but magicly it did osmething

    it's time for you to upgrade your distro. 6 is from flintstones era... tons of exploits and stuff don't go online with it

    yeha i decided to just go ahead and use 8.0 i just dled the files and burning them to cds now actually
