Hi
A lot of the posts on these boards and others indicate to me that many people dont have the slightest idea about what comes in modern linux distros. Does the average user know that most distros come with C, C++, perl, TCL. python and etc. Also I think most people seem to be unaware of the high development of the window managers. You can Have a simple rock solid gui or play with the advanced versions. Your choice. They have free IDE's and
amazing editors.
Okay it can sometimes get a little complicated but wouldn't you rather have a huge garage full of all different kinds of vehicles which you can use as your needs and abilities dictate or just one
ordinary car with an auto trans and which you are required to use by law.
I got carried away, but man, if you want to program or connect to the internet or write a book the tools are there and they are free. They are open and improved constantly at no charge to you and for no other reason than the joy it brings the programmer.
One of the funniest things to me is when I read that some suit doesn't understand why this appeals to young people.
Whew! Okay I'm done!
