    So you have a program which handles a couple of dozen permutations of options in a SAFE manner (like unmounting volumes).
    50 lines per feature point is pretty good going IMO.

    As opposed to some 5-line hack hard-coded for a single device which has no regard for anyone else who might be using the device.
    If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
    If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.
