how much memory usage for my program?

Is there a way to monitor how much memory my program is using? I'm running linux, maybe one of the gnu tools can do that?

If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.
