Ahh.. I've seen that happen when I go to a forum logged out, then log in, then go to a thread and when I go back they are all marked as read in that thread. I have seen that on other vBulletin sites as well.
Does it always only happen just after logging in? If so, are you logging in from a particular forum? Whenever I'm logging in, I try to avoid any forums I want to read until after I log in and go the frontpage.
I've set it up to automatic login. I went to the C++ board, clicked on a post, and when I came out all were read
Another one: when a board has more than one page of unread posts, and I read all of them, the index of Cboard tells me that there are still unread posts in that forum (aka yellow icon), even when there are no new posts.
Might be something to do with my Internet settings on my computer, but I have the 'display alert' thing toggled in my profile settings and I get an alert telling me that I got a message when I do. Suppose someone messages me. I get a message. Do I want to read it? Yes or Cancel. I say Yes, then it asks if I want it in a new window or not, if I say I don't, it works fine, just continues in the same window, but if I say I do want it in a new window it opens an IE window and shows the message ... sounds right, eh? but it's not ... but it should open a FireFox window ... It could just be my settings though ... Anyone have any ideas on it? FF is my default browser
These are for Alex to upload, just ignore them.
I was looking through some of the source code on this site and I found a page displaying some dodgy script tags. Just to let you know ;)
The link posted by loobian on this FAQ is not working:
http://cboard.cprogramming.com/showthread.php?t=4367
404 Not Found.
Well yeah, it links to an external site. That article in the external site was just removed. Cboard has nothing to do with it (the link could be removed though).
I fill that the white space is missing between
andCode:« Previous Thread | Next Thread »
Code:Search this Thread
Also, average posts per day are not shown! :(
Eg: When I click my own name I see,
Quote:
Total Posts: 449 ( posts per day)
When I click on Tech Board page (3000+ threads), I see only two pages worth of threads going back only as far as 04/06/2008 but I can search the Tech Board for posts (such as my own) and get results going back as far as 2003.
Is this me only?
The calendar only goes up to the year 2006? Damn... what if I were to be born again?
Main page -> Resources -> Source codes - some of them give a 404.
( If I press F12 (should open FireBug) on this page with Firefox, it makes FireBug hang. I'm guessing this is just a bug of my FireBug. )
Not reproducible by me, but then again, no javascript is working on the boards in Firefox for me (works in IE, though).
I'm guessing something on this board is confusing FireBug - it steps into an infinite loop and finally says it ran too long and offers me to debug it and then it hangs again. I think it must be some Javascript part. :p
At first I didn't realize F12 was my FireBug key so I posted it on here and... oops. :(
I am not being able to reproduce it either. Though that doesn't technically mean anything. What OS are you using? Perhaps I can reproduce it on another machine ;)
Is 2006 the maximum year that the php db the forums are running on can do date math with? I notice the calendar is not the only screwy thing malfunctioning.
I just calculated my posts per day at 0.879. I have been trying to remain more active lately, but not necessarily compete with the obsessive Elysia or the old and half-assed active all the time Salem.
Does it matter? Post where you feel like you have something to add.
And btw, mats posts more than me.
It doesn't matter. I just got curious since I was curious how close to zero posts per day I was. If I could have negative posts to bring me down to 0.0001 posts per day, I would.
And if you didn't care then how come you mention matsp? (I ironically didn't mention him just to see if you would bring his posts into this)
Your posts are all golden, for whatever its worth Elysia. So don't think I am ragging on you or anyone else.
Because mats is a very active poster and mats's replies are often golden worth of information!
Truly a valuable member. Worth mentioning, that's all.
Besides, you did compare me to lots of posts.
:DQuote:

There is a reason I compare you two. You both usually are more informative than anything else. Unlike me, who is usually very unserious more than half the time. Or post code that is intentionally unusable for the OP's homework. Or give the OP a hard time for not speaking coherently.
Knowing where I am kind of a pedantic jerk helps me acknowledge those who aren't.
And you give out answers to newbies sometimes...
But eh, we all have flaws (apparently :p), so that's ok.
Just try to be a little more serious instead ;)
Fair enough. Usually I only post when I get tired of doing homework or before work. So its an outlet for frustration at times. I don't mean to give out answers, by the way. I have been trying a bit harder to use more pseudo code (or just PHP/Pascal and Python/Pascal since to a newbie that is functionally useless to them anyway) but sometimes its I just write a quick blurb that turns out to be a fully functional answer.

Don't know whether this is a bug or not.(though is a "strange" thing)
But words longer than 49 characters are delimited by spaces.
It's a feature. It's meant to stop you from messing up the forum layout by typing in a long, unbreakable word. Spaces are forcibly introduced every so often, which gives the browser the opportunity to break lines.
That makes sense.
Search is broken. Try searching for "input class", and you get this error:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 299056 bytes) in /home/cprogram/public_html/cboard/search.php on line 1158
Thank you, search should be working again. (It actually worked for most terms, but I think 'input class' brought up so many results that it exhausted the available memory.)
With the newly updated vbulletin software, two bugs are reported here in this thread.
Various broken image links can be seen in the new forum features. This is clearly visible in the new user profiles and I'm sure in other places, as well. I'd imagine these are being in the process of being created and this might already be a known issue, I'm just putting it in writing.

New members can't see profiles due to security concerns, but I don't see a reason not to allow someone to see their own profile.
Advertisement overlays on posts interact bad with code boxes. The advertisement covers the text in the code box, which doesn't get its lines broken. (Safari)

I assume webmaster is aware, but just in case... the site has been very slow, unreachable, or giving database errors off and on for the last couple days.
I get an access denied error when trying to view a conversation among my visitor messages for some reason:
http://cboard.cprogramming.com/conve...20059&u2=28033
Found a couple nits a few days ago on one of the tutorial pages... now I found another one. It is on the Initialization Lists page. The constructors are called Bar instead of Baz.

Thanks! I've corrected these examples. Please let me know if you run into any more issues like this.
The question mark at the top-right corner will open a new window with the text "@ABOUT@" in it. What's the purpose of it?Code:#include <stdlib.h>
#include <stdio.h>
int main(int argc, char **argv)
{
printf("Hello Example!\n");
return EXIT_SUCCESS;
}
It's a test of curiosity, to see if you'll click the button.
This is really weird, but when I tried to go to the forum using the direct link (cboard.cprogramming.com) I kept getting a VB server error. About one minute later of refreshing it allowed me to enter.
Probably a temporary server error. Report it if it keeps occuring.
The forum keeps logging me out for some reason. I do not allow cookies but I have never been logged out automatically after logging in. The lack of cookies means that if I leave the site and come back I will need to login again. At least that is how it used to behave.
Occasionally over the last week or so, when moving between pages here, I see messages like
"Warning: Declaration of vB_ProfileBlock_vBSEOLikes::block_is_enabled() should be compatible with that of vB_ProfileBlock::block_is_enabled() in ..../vbseo/includes/functions_vbseo_ui_profile.php on line 52"
The positioning of the message is at the top of the browser window (Firefox, if that matters).
No definite repeatability, but it occurs often enough that I've noticed it. I've seen it sometimes when hitting the "New Posts" link, sometimes when reading a thread, and sometimes when I receive notifications. Doing a screen refresh does not necessarily cause repetition.
Weird.

In spite of clicking only once, my message got double-posted - as did Matticus's message who was posting simultaneously, and they ended up interleaved (race condition?).
Dunno if it's related, but the site itself had a database error for a minute or two just following that.
I deleted the double posts shortly after Cat posted.
As of today, I started seeing "warnings" appear on the top of the "advanced search" page. I also saw a similar message very briefly while posting (it almost immediately redirected to show the post correctly right after).

Verified on three computers/browsers:
#1: Opera 12.01 (Windows XP)
#2: Firefox 27.0.1 (Windows 7)
#3: IE 8.0.6001.18702 (Windows XP)
Additional information (too late to edit previous post):
Similar warnings on anyones "likes received" and "likes given" pages (thanks for bringing that to my attention, Codeplug :p)
Clicked around a bunch, but didn't see them anywhere else.

Saw another while saving an edit to this post:

I've been seeing warnings like those reported by Matticus, except worded as
"Warning: Declaration of vB_ProfileBlock_vBSEOLikes::block_is_enabled() should be compatible with that of vB_ProfileBlock::block_is_enabled() in ..../vbseo/includes/functions_vbseo_ui_profile.php on line 52"
It doesn't happen all the time, and I haven't worked out a predictable way to trigger it. I saw the above message on the list of notifications I get (e.g. when someone gives a "Like").

I'm also noticing that, when posting, I sometimes receive a popup from my browser (firefox) asking for permission to move away from a page (with one option to continue, and one not to).
Selecting the option to continue is what is necessary to actually post (selecting the other allows continuing to edit). The catch is, on an increasing number of occasions, selecting the option to continue results in TWO copies of the post appearing in the thread. When I see those within the permitted period, I delete them.
Same happens if I edit one of my posts - so I can duplicate a post by attempting to edit it. Or have two slightly different versions of a post.

See what I mean about duplication?
O_o
@grumpy: I've been seeing that a lot as well. If you see that "redirect" popup before your inactivity timeout (I believe the timeout is about ten minutes.), load the list view in a separate tab/window. Yeah, it is a hassle, but I've had fewer instances of duplicate posts the last couple of days.
Soma
I've also seen the redirect popup a fair bit lately, and some of the vB messages as well. As for the redirect issue, I usually click "Cancel", copy-paste my reply into a text editor as a backup, and refresh the page. The majority of the time, my post is there, and it's only there once.
Not sure if this will be read, but here goes.
Whenever I've submit a post over the last day or so, I get a message
The post does actually appear in the thread (although it is necessary to find the thread again and read it separately) since nothing shows up in new post list and post count in the thread appears not to be updated.Quote:

........ is really hitting the fan here, the general discussions page is not updating for me (had to click on the last post link to get here), and the reply numbers are wrong.
Something else I noticed the other day while hopping on for a few minutes - when I checked "new posts", several threads indicated zero replies - but when I clicked on it, there were several replies. Furthermore, the post counts (of the OP at least, didn't check the regular members) did not increase in those threads.
An example can be found by searching for user "splee". It shows two threads - the first looks normal, and that user posted five times. The latest indicates zero replies (though there are several replies on the thread) and that users post count remains at five.
Just posting to make sure my account is verified after changing emails.
Also I only see one active non-sticky thread in the General Discussions board. Is that normal?
Testing to see if i can get avatar permissions after a 10 post count
I fired my ubuntu box up and for some bizarre reason, it's impossible to enter my password at the small login prompt to the top left. It's as if the textbox rejects me. I had to just enter my username and press login, which took me to the error page. There I could enter the password just fine.
I'm using Firefox Quantum 63.0.3 (64-bit) on Ubuntu 18.04
Reporting a post (e.g. SPAM) causes the forum to load/wait (for something) for about a minute or so and doesn't give any hint that the report has actually been processed when it's done. This happened each time I used the feature, should be fixed.
