    C Board is 20

Just over 20 years ago, the current incarnation of the forum rose from the ashes of the old UltraBoard

Wondering if there is anyone else from those early times still around.
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

I get maybe two dozen requests for help with some sort of programming or design problem every day. Most have more sense than to send me hundreds of lines of code. If they do, I ask them to find the smallest example that exhibits the problem and send me that. Mostly, they then find the error themselves. "Finding the smallest program that demonstrates the error" is a powerful debugging tool.

Yeah, this is the only incarnation of the CBoard that I know of. Nice to see some of the old timers still active here.

Crazy times. I still check in here and there.

This place holds a special spot for me since this is where I really started learning to code.

I now notice my signature quote is linking to nowhere - guess that's the end of the web for me he.

Oh, I like this thread. It's very welcoming.
If I did your homework for you, then you might pass your class without learning how to write a program like this. Then you might graduate and get your degree without learning how to write a program like this. You might become a professional programmer without knowing how to write a program like this. Someday you might work on a project with me without knowing how to write a program like this. Then I would have to do you serious bodily harm. - Jack Klein
