    Forum slow again?

Is it just me or is the forum loading abnormally slowly for others too like how it was before the fix against the DDos attack? Takes a tonne of time to load threads...

Yes, very slow for me too.

    I've PM'ed webmaster.

If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

It's a bit up and down at the moment
In the space of 30 minutes it's gone from snappy to molasses to snappy again.

Also, been facing some other issues with the UI. Don't know if it's just me though....
The reply box hasn't been loading for me for over a week now. Always have to select "Go Advanced" to reply to messages. And like you said, the loading is fast(ish) at times, but dead slow mostly.

Re speed: not sure quite what triggered this, but I see a larger number of attempted connections to apache; the worker pool hit its limits, and that caused lag in connecting to the server. I've expanded the number of workers, and it seems to be snappy again.

Re reply box: I'm not sure why the reply box wouldn't be showing up - do you have any console errors? Does this happen in incognito mode?

Last week I was being logged out every few minutes; that had the Quick Reply go away.

I'm replying with incognito enabled. The problem of the reply box not showing up doesn't persist anymore in incognito. But without it, it seems to always remain disappeared.

I don't know what console errors are by definition but if it's what I think it is, then nope, no console errors.

With all those timeouts, it's easy for some bit of JS to go AWOL and with it, bits of the UI.

If it works in incognito mode, you may want to look into disabling some of your chrome extensions. I often find that they are the cause of unexpected behaviors, and I see you have a fair number of them.

Well, that fixed it. I removed an extension called Meddle Monkey and now I have no problem. Don't understand how all of it works though

Glad that is fixed! I guess it was very meddlesome But it looks like Meddle Monkey is built to support users running custom scripts on pages, so it's also possible you had a specific user script that was added, so if you wanted to add Meddle Monkey back and try editing your list of user scripts, that might work too!

Nah, it probably won't in my case. I was using an userscript that allows a few CP sites to work in a so called "dark" mode so that I don't end up straining my eyes when I'm reading late at night, and it's the only userscript apart from a CodeForces problem highlighter that I use. I can do without the CF one (even though it's the other one that causes the problem), and have added a different extension for providing dark interfaces. Thanks for your help!
