    Supergluing sim card and battery

    Hello,

I have a family member who keeps using a phone I bought for someone else, and they keep taking the other persons sim card out and putting theirs in. Last week I superglued in the sim card, battery, and plastic back cover. And it was working fine for days before I left.

However, apparently the person who use to keep swapping the sims has said the battery has now melted/expanded and no longer functioned. And used this as justification to rip it apart to get the sim card out.

I do not know whether to believe this person. I cannot put a pin2 on it ie, so they are prompted for a pin if the phone is switched off. They are elderly. The sim card just needs to remain in the phone.

    My questions are:
    1) Do you believe this can happen? It's a nokia 3310 (new model)
    2) Is there any other method of sealing the sim card in so it can't be taken out?

    Thanks

If your elderly family member needs a phone, just get them one. It will rid you of all this hassle.

I have bought them a phone. But the person living with her keeps taking the sim card out and putting theirs in. I've bought another phone for her again, because they dismantled the other one which I glued up

You wrote that you "have a family member who keeps using a phone I bought for someone else", and now you say that it the person living with your family member who is doing that. So are they both your family members? I'm confused.

My point is to get whoever has been swapping the SIM cards their own phone (perhaps of the same model, hopefully with distinguishing characteristics like a different colour scheme), if you are willing to and can afford it. I reason that this person basically wants to use that phone, hence all this SIM card swapping in the first place, hence by giving them their own phone they will no longer have any incentive to do this SIM card swapping.

Of course, I'm making an assumption here. Perhaps this person secretly hates you and wants to irritate you to no end, I don't know. But if reasoning with them has not worked, super glue hasn't worked, then perhaps you need to figure out why the person is doing this and address that.
