Arthurian legend on Tv and Movies

    Hi all!

In your opinion, what's the best mythologically correct TV series or movie on Arthurian legend? I mean the real mythological story without extra stuff added, or aspect of the tale removed from it to be more attractive or whatever for audiences. There are lot's I can find on the net, though I'm not sure what to watch to get the real tale as it is told. I don't want bells and whistles movie or series, I just want to watch the plain real story. Any good ones please?

    Thanks!

Thanks guys for the inputs. I've just watched Excalibur, and it was pretty good, thanks @whiteflags. I'll checkout the link @stevesmithx, thanks. I'm also interested on the more mythological stories written in the middle ages, like where Arthur fights with dragons and stuff. Though reading the descriptions of available Tv shows, couldn't find one featuring those tales (as in Robin of Sherwood 1980s show, where they exploit various Robin tales in each episode). I think I need to read the books for those. Or are there Tv shows featuring originally written feats of the knights of Camelot more?

Sad fact though: As lacking as it was in script and acting, no Arthurian legend film has however surpassed it. It's been 36 years for pete's sake! The British independent cinema has been on the rise for well over a decade. It was about time, no? Especially since we know we definitely can't count on Hollywood to make anything worthwhile.

    EDIT:
Also, geek@02, you may like The Sword in the Stone. Perhaps the best animated version of the legend: The Sword in the Stone (1963) - IMDb

Yeah the movie is not that good when you take the acting into account. But at least it tells the tale with no bull........ added. And yes, definitely it's the time for Arthurian legend to be rightly retold. But I don't believe it can be a movie. I think it should be something like Game of thrones, that deeply exploits each character.
