    Hello everyone :)

This is just a quick post to say hi

My real name is Rich, I recently started learning programming to further my understanding of computers. I teach myself but hopefully in the future I will take my learning to some college, university or institution.

I have a deep interest in Maths, particularly pure maths.

I'm 28, working at a store in my City.

Other than pc's programming and Maths I like to exercise, run and play piano. That's about it really.

I hope to become active on these forums .

I hope your journey of programming goes well. This is a great place - you can learn a lot here.

That's pretty impressive. Do you get a vehicle to tow the piano along while you run?

I get maybe two dozen requests for help with some sort of programming or design problem every day. Most have more sense than to send me hundreds of lines of code. If they do, I ask them to find the smallest example that exhibits the problem and send me that. Mostly, they then find the error themselves. "Finding the smallest program that demonstrates the error" is a powerful debugging tool.

The Oxford Comma. Yes, it really is that important.

There's a big difference between these two:

I went to a party with strippers, Bill Clinton, and John McCain.

What can this strange device be?
When I touch it, it gives forth a sound
It's got wires that vibrate and give music
What can this thing be that I found?

    ?

I thought the video explained it perfectly.

Edited: I forgot my part of the warm greetings, though! Some of us might occasionally get stuck on stuff that seems minor or even irrelevant, but we mean no harm; we really just wish to be useful. Sometimes that means not giving you the small push to get over a hump on the way, but trying to make you see a better path. It may not feel nice all the time, but it truly is intended to be most helpful to everyone in the long term.
