    Hello

Been a while since I posted. Lots of job changes, bit of maths study, plenty of life changing nonsense and spilt milk under the bridge. Finally find myself in a job that allows me to code as a part of what I'm expected to do (even though it's VBA an JavaScript) instead of just being a hobby/passion.

So who's still around from when I used to post and who can fill me in on all of the gossip I've missed?

I'm still around! Don't worry, we haven't been gossiping about you. Probably. *checks to see if the threads were deleted*

If they do, I ask them to find the smallest example that exhibits the problem and send me that. Mostly, they then find the error themselves. "Finding the smallest program that demonstrates the error" is a powerful debugging tool.

There were those strippers that were having trouble posting their films somewhere, they got a lot of help.

What math have you studied? I changed careers recently. Dropped all programming. I am running a small software development house, but plan to sell my share this February. Have been teaching high school math, and plan to (at the age of 46) get back to college next year and take a major. I'm going back to my home country next year and I won't be able to teach there without a major.

Well I'm hoping to get my hands on a python installation soon, so that's a little better, but for what I do, I won't get to do any C coding.

Just followed an Open University. Mostly interested in stats and linear modelling...did a module on optimisation and some stuff on mechanics. Might go back and do some post grad stuff one day

Aha! Freaking VBA and JS! So that is what they are using in GCHQ nowadays. That makes sense, after all VB has been used by intelligence bureaus from time to time to track psychotic serial killers.

    LOL...nah...I don't work for them...

Day job is way more boring and uninteresting than it would be with them!
