    Visual Basic vs Visual Studio

What's the difference between Visual Basic and Visual Studio? This is not for me...it's for my nephew's project. Just tryin' to help :-) I know there are a lot of articles around the web but I was thinking that we might be able to understand better we if we hear directly from the users or experts. :-) Ty.

Visual Basic was a programming language and also the name for the IDE that you would use to program for that language.
Visual Studio is just an IDE (Integrated Development Environment), an application that helps you program and build programs. It is not a programming language.
