It was the Rust thing, wasn't it? Can't really recall. It was just not you that lead to him leaving Phantomotap. Quit crediting yourself. Or the Rust thing was with someone else?

I don't know man. If you really don't grow some mental muscle, your place in the web will be unnecessarily and sadly limited. It's not that people like to be arseholes. Who does? Only trolls do. It's just that arguing different points of view does necessarily lead to conflict. And conflict is good, for pete's sake. Not everyone can or likes to argue like they are talking to a sleeping baby.

    EDIT:
I lied back then. I eventually went to Quora just to see how it was, despite me saying I wouldn't. You know... curiosity. And it was so highly talked about. It is funny this is being mentioned now, because I went there for the first time just a few days ago.

Can't say I really like it. But i's a-ok, I guess. Some questions are really stupid and many upvoted answers are even more. Some topics that could have been pearls of thinking are riddled wioth so much crap it is hard not to just remove them from our feeds; like Artificial Intelligence and Atheism. But Mathematics, Astrophysics, Astronomy and Chemistry are pretty decent. I was wrong. It's worth it.

I've never heard of this thing before, but am interested to see it. It looks as if you have to sign in using your social networking identity? Edit: Nevermind, it looks like you can sign up with an email address, I would have disliked needing to use my facebook (I hate social networking sites).

After having read StackOverflow for so long I would really like a Q&A site with slightly less zealous quality control. It seems like more than half of the questions I find answered on SO were closed as "not constructive" or some other nonsense. The community there can be like jinns, picking apart your requests in a literal sense for seemingly maleficent purposes.

(eg, html - What is the best HTML5 book? - Stack Overflow)
