This forum generally does not remove posts that are within the rules. We keep posts around because others may come along and need help of the type that the thread provides. If you're not allowed to seek help from forums on your homework, then it's your fault for doing it.
What can this strange device be?
When I touch it, it gives forth a sound
It's got wires that vibrate and give music
What can this thing be that I found?

There is a topic I've read about deleting posts, I don't remember which one or where but as Elkvis says: they don't do that, and justly. I didn't ask many question because there are already answers posted, and you ask question when an existing topic doesn't help or you don't understand it. You just google "topic + cboard.cprogramming.com".

Besides, I think it is not a good idea to seek answers on school homework and exercises, discarding the question is it allowed or not. It doesn't help you that way. In my case we are allowed to seek help on the project which we freely choose, but not on exercises, and even if we do, we will be asked why and how the solution works! lol

i figured this was the place for help as the traditional aid at the school failed to help.
as they were just as stuck as i was..

i merely asked a starting point but the school still disapproved

hopefully its not a big deal. ill be talking with them soon lol

Other forum users have already made some contributions, minor as they may be, so I shall not delete the thread. I have closed the thread so that other users will not venture further information that could be construed as helping you to cheat as defined by your school.

"Finding the smallest program that demonstrates the error" is a powerful debugging tool.

It's not like anybody gave you a complete working code or anything.

It was just several suggestions of things to think about.

Just to re-iterate what others have said. We work on the basis of "good faith" that you're allowed to seek the kind of help you're looking for (it says as much in the rules).

The flip side is we delete posts all over the place, thus ruining the forum as a resource to look through, and also give the REAL cheaters all the opportunity to get their answer and cover their tracks before their school found out.

Besides, if you're worried about others plagiarising your work, the "ace" up your sleeve is that you posted first, and can demonstrate that by logging in to the board in front of your tutors (which anyone who copied your code won't be able to do).
If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

interesting flip side didn't think about that

    very true points

i mean all that's really up there is the prototypes which are already given and the randomize(which in fact is incorrect and places ships off board) so no real harm

basically a Warning for me and more forum etiquette i guess u can say
