Have you tried mead (aka honey wine)? It's delicious. And in its simplest form, it's really easy to make. Mix 4 to 5 pounds of honey in warm water, pour into a gallon jug, top off with water, allow to cool, throw in a packet or two of yeast, shake it up, cover lightly with foil (though an airlock would be better), stick in a dark place to ferment (don't jostle it!), and after about six weeks, it's ready to go. You just have to siphon it off to leave any sediment behind. You can optionally add spices (e.g. clove, cinnamon sticks) and/or fruit before fermenting.

What about a filter, or micro-filter? I don't know much about alcohol (except that it makes me even dumber than normal lol), but I remember years ago my bother-in-law was doing a homebrew thing, and he used filters.

Why not just dissolve these in some water and ferment that?

One of my local home brew supply stores has a little basket of those for you to sample for free. They're quite yummy

EDIT: It might not be that exact brand, but whatever they are, they're yummy.

Do you mean your battery is not charging? If it's a NiCad battery, it's probably got the "memory effect" thing going on. If you get a new laptop that also uses this type of battery, remember to unplug it every once and a while and completely drain the battery naturally. It's unintuitive, but it's necessary to maintaining the batteries charge capacity.

For out of date technology though, I have a relative who was still using a dial-up internet connection up until 2-3 years ago (iirc). She didn't even have the excuse of it being cheaper, as it was $40 a month. Telling her about DSL was like talking to that knight from Monty Python, "This horrible internet is but a flesh wound!" lol.
