I was under the impression that Mono had a lot of stuff implemented and does a pretty good job compatibility-wise (I have no experience with this, just hearsay). I looked it up and they've implemented all of .NET 2.0 but are still working on stuff past that.
I know that in spite of being complete, Mono is pretty good, however I am always amazed at how well Wine works.
Now, when I say "garden of Microsoft", I mean that it's direction is dictated soley by them as much as I mean that it'll work best on their platforms. So I do think it's a fair comparison. But if someone has had extensive recent experience with both Mono and Wine, feel free to correct me.

Agreed. I understand an implimentation of C# and is going to be quite different from C++ (and much more like Java). I simply mean them to be syntactically similar; heck, the name gives it away if nothing else.

I know nothing about this "Drawrf Fortress" of yours, but I simply implied that Terraria > Minecraft. That doesn't meant there is no ??? > Terraria > ??? > Minecraft.

Your revised inequality seems to suggest that Minecraft is definitively the worst of its category.

Just when I thought this thread could not stoop any lower, it turns from zealotry/bigotry concerning programming language (which is bad enough) into zealotry/bigotry concerning games.
Right 98% of the time, and don't care about the other 3%.

If I seem grumpy or unhelpful in reply to you, or tell you you need to demonstrate more effort before you can expect help, it is likely you deserve it. Suck it up, Buttercup, and read this, this, and this before posting again.

Considering this thread has not (yet?) devolved into a series of ad hominem attacks, I'd say it's better than the average Internet discourse.

I disagree with you. There are games far worse than Minecraft (I'm not fan of Minecraft, but it doesn't mean I think it's bad).
So another revised inequality for you:
    ??? > Terraria > ??? > Minecraft > ???
    Better?

I'll revise it for you again:

    x¹ ≥ Terraria ≥ x² > x³ ≥ Minecraft ≥ x⁴

    (although IMHO, Mincraft > Terraria)

You crazy. x² is obviously superior to x¹.

x¹ and x² are free variables, so by definition it is not.

There is only one variable: x. If such is the case, the it holds that x² > x¹.
We're not talking about indexes here! We're talking about powers!

If you were talking about exponents, it would make just as much sense. Presume that 1 is equal to the perfect name and 0 is equal to the worst possible game. Assuming perfect is not an attainable figure, it would suggest that x is the limit as n approaches 1. Thus each power of x would be inferior to the last an approaches 0 as it increases.

P.S. someone who uses math more than I do might poke holes in my phrasing on limits, but I'm pretty sure everyone understands what I mean.

And power is a fickle thing. What happens if x = 1/4?
