    Anybody here from Texas?

    I heard about this
Texas Restaurant Owner Michael De Beyer Sells Business To Help Brittany Mathis - Video Dailymotion

In sort, a guy has a restaurant (which runs for 17 years..probably it is good). One of his waitresses has cancer. Her family can't pay for the treatment. He, without been asked any help, desiced to sell the business, in order to donate money to the girl!

If anyone is from Texas and particular from Montgomery, please say a bravo to him.

It’s 2014 and I still use printf() for debugging.

A bit extreme, no? I would suspect the business earnings alone would be enough to pay for cancer treatment. It's not like she's suffering from Respiratory Failure on Ventilator condition. (Where did Forbes get this stupid condition name from?)

Perhaps, except it's not only about the girl:

The man admits he also wants to unload the eatery so that he can spend quality time with his wife and two kids.

    (Also mentioned here)

Still, a magnanimous gesture on his part.

Well what I was thinking, is that the he sold the business, thus getting much money once. So he donates(hugely) the girl once.
Wouldn't it be better, if he constalty supported her, by paying her a big-waitress salary per month? That way he would support her continiously!

However, as Matticus said, he wants to spend more time with this family, thus my question is answered.

    Truly magnanimous!

Well, I also felt it was a bit extreme. My feeling was that he basically sold his business, a livelihood, for one person, and I wondered what he was going to do now. It's really none of my business, but a darker part of me wondered if he went into destitution. I would only do that for my wife's sake.

I agree with you. That way, he can continuously support her, and the overall monetary help she'd get would be more than the one donation maybe.

    Such a nice gesture !
