Essentially yeah. If expressing your thoughts leads to intolerance, it's an obviously bannable offense. I don't think you're being intolerant, but we all have the capability of darkness inside of us.
There is also the angle that you are trolling. When people express their political ideas on CBoard, they do so thoughtfully. You posted a picture from the internet without any additional context, saying it was clever and interesting. Basically, you just wanted people to react to the picture. It can mean whatever you want it to mean, and the only real direction for this "discussion" to go is off the rails, when someone is finally, eventually offended. Yeah, I hope your stupid thread gets locked.
You are a university student. I humbly request that you start acting like an adult and consider your audience when you want to communicate. If you want Americans on the board to seriously respond to the idea that America kills for profit, you better put it a different way and present some evidence. What you're doing now is just a recipe for the very people you accuse to ignore you. I'm certainly not very receptive to the idea without any evidence from you. It's too late now. I already don't care about your opinion.
HAND
I don't mind padding my ignore list today.
O_oTHE IDEA IS SIMPLE: AMERICA KILLS PEOPLE FOR HER OWN PROFIT!
How is that the idea you got from the image you posted?
Why? The right to be foolish on the internet is a workhorse of glorious purpose.I hope your stupid thread gets locked.

If its a paradox, it's invalid, by the very definition of a paradox, and you can't use it as you did to refute whiteflags annoyance at what has been said here.
More to the point though, opinions don't suffer from immunity of any kind. If I happen to think pedophilia is a great thing to try out, I should be responsible for my words once I openly express that opinion. Most likely I'd be banned from a public forum. The most common mistake is to think I can freely express opinions without repercussions. Freedom of expression has many limitations, including libel, incitement to hate and displays of intolerance, which, incidentally, just like with pedophilia constitute crime on many countries... including my own.
Saying that America kills for profit is an offense even if you aren't willing to take it. It's immaterial how you personally view it. It's even immaterial whether the reader of such words is an American or European. I personally was offended by it. Not because it attacked my personal integrity and reputation, but because it does of people that I care about.
So your attempt at being dismissive and pathetically ironic falls on deaf ears.

I did not attempt to dismiss std10093's claim...
I can, actually. The paradox (and hence, invalidity) is in whiteflag's condemning intolerance while also displaying it.
This irrationality is not inexpressible simply because the word 'paradox' is used to describe it.
The ease with which some members of this board takes offense to something is amazing, especially considering the offending post is usually very clearly a tongue-in-cheek remark.
This is the exact same rhetoric that was used by some of the more spineless parts of our parliament when this incident occured, luckily, the phrase "i take offense to that" is not a carte blanche to shut down discussions on potentially touchy subjects.I personally was offended by it. Not because it attacked my personal integrity and reputation, but because it does of people that I care about.

What in the world is that supposed to mean. He said an incredibly stupid thing, and I let him know how stupid it was.The ease with which some members of this board takes offense to something is amazing, especially considering the offending post is usually very clearly a tongue-in-cheek remark.

Sometimes being deliberately offensive is the best way to spark a discussion. Did you not catch the smirk with which this thread was made? Is your identity so closely tied to your country of origin that you lack the capacity to sit back and have a laugh about it, or even just to ignore someone else doing just that?

If there was one, you invented it.Did you not catch the smirk with which this thread was made?
Since i'm not the OP, that might be the case. Personally, i'd give him the benefit of the doubt. But hey, why pass up a chance to be offended? If there was one, you invented it.
Well i'm sorry but then i'm just not sure what you were trying to convey with the statement "I personally was offended by it". Are you looking for an apology?Luckily I don't think it should either.
