Well after another 4 days of bashing at it (6 total), in light of Cyberfish's comment about that's what commercial projects are like, I finally got Code::Blocks to fully build and compile from source. It may not sound like much, but it's a big boost for my confidence. The longer something takes me to fix or figure out, the higher the satisfaction and the bigger the boost to my confidence. It's almost a rush.
Now to figure out how all the different parts of the source fit together and interact so that I can finally start fixing things...
