A new player in online computer science courses

I was reading slashdot.org and read an article discussing a "new player" in online computer science courses.

The University of New South Wales is offering an Online Computer Science Course starting December 3rd for those who would like to enroll.

The course is a 12 week program covering much of the University of New South Wale's complete introductory year material.

Students of this course are gradually introduced to the C programming language.

UNSW will eventually offer a follow up course taking off where this introductory course left off.

The service is free and is open to everyone. You can enroll at the link below...

To be fair it does not claim to cover the whole programme - the course looks pretty ok, in terms of a primer content, - its clearly a marketing ploy to sell full courses but still is nice so much content is offered for free - as to the quality of the content i cant comment but the institution seems ok. One hilarious irony i found though was that on loading pages - you get 'message from webpage - stack overflow at line 38' haha, loved that.
    Thought for the day:
"Are you sure your sanity chip is fully screwed in sir?" (Kryten)
FLTK: "The most fun you can have with your clothes on."

    Stroustrup:
"If I had thought of it and had some marketing sense every computer and just about any gadget would have had a little 'C++ Inside' sticker on it'"

I seriously doubt it's equivalent to taking a year-long course. They apparently do cover a lot of material from their first-year computer science course compressed in a series of lessons lasting 12 weeks. I've not taken the course, so I can't comment on the quality of the course. Nor can I compare it to their full year computer science course.

I posted the link here in case someone might be interested.

Dunno, but at the Khan academy you can get moon badges and other things, try that.
