    I have also frequently wondered why we learn to reverse things. It doesn't make me feel smart, it makes me feel like I'm passing a field sobriety test.

    We learn to reverse things because folks often don't think about the order in which elements of a container (or whatever) will be used. Because of that there is a 50% chance they'll get the order wrong.
    Right 98% of the time, and don't care about the other 3%.
