Hey all
I was looking over the history of C programming thread and saw that there was a few banned people and interesting conversations.
What happened to all the Trolls?
Does anyone have any favourite moments over the years?

I'm not pretty active around here, but I know one thing: Trolls starve to death here, we don't tend to encourage them.
Devoted my life to programming...
Something I've done recently was to go through all of the boards and check out the explicitly closed threads. Good times there.
My personal favorite was a poster who was trying to get people to do his work for him. After being called out on it, he went on a mini-rant while still trying to get someone to do his work. That post ended with this sentence:
There's something hilarious to me about calling the people you're trying to get to help you "nerds."From you nerds, I would like some better and optimized logic than those I posted
That was a great idea Matticus - I went through the C programming board over the last year and had a great time looking at the locked threads
I can see that some of the Trolls were well fed at times! Haha
Some of my favourites were the "void main" vs "int main" - One (banned) individual could not accept that they had not considered embedded systems, and instead of admitting they were wrong, just cracked it!
(I forget what it was called) but there was a big argument on initialise vs. assign - That's a fun one that actually used the "Troll" word!

Maybe not now because this place is pretty slow and quiet, but you have only been around since 2009 and he is asking about the history.
The "trolls" as it were consisted largely of a group that was on here during the same time period and the fact is they (we) have just kind of migrated on over the years. Some of us landed on a social forum private to our group of friends, some just vanished. This forum kind of went by the wayside for most people as jobs began to demand time, families came into the picture, etc. It went from a large group of bored, often drunk, hilarious college kids to see us through to the years beyond. People just eventually faded off for any number of understandable life reasons.
As for favorite moments that is a long list. Let us not forget Govtcheez when he made a meal, more like a concoction really, based on posts and then ate it. Or the football bet I lost when I had to write a love letter to Warren Sapp. There was no shortage of times that I would drive Alex insane, get banned, and then call Kermi to get me out of it. The late night AIM chat, the IRC channel(s). Kids wanting their homework done. Pointless fights being mean to other members wives.....
Good times.
The time I was not here is irrelevant because nothing that would really be called the history of this board nor anything significant to it's establishment has happened in that time. The golden days are what the thread refers to back when this was place was at it's glory. You wouldn't understand because you weren't here.
And your trolling was necessary? It's simply my opinion. A bunch of drunken losers. Pathetic.
The cost of software maintenance increases with the square of the programmer's creativity. - Robert D. Bliss
Anyway, the History of this thread can be examined starting from post #1
