hello all .
i've been thinking , why dont we have that installed on this board?
the least benefit of it is that the code! tag is accessible in quick reply section ! and i dont have to always click advanced reply to actually use that tag!
and also it would be alot better having all of the advanced features of the editor in quick reply too .
any idea?

My $0.02 here is that people who believe that pointing and clicking is the fastest way to get something done when available are wrong, especially if what they are doing is typing to start with. I never use the button for tags like "code", I just type "code" in square brackets, etc.* You can do that at least 4-5 times in the time it takes you to grab the mouse, labouriously highlight a paragraph, and click on an icon.
If you think I am even potentially wrong about this (or that it is "subjective"), consider what it would be like if instead of using a keyboard, you put sentences together by selecting words from a drop down menu.
Just type "code" in square brackets, dude. More shiny widgets tempting you to make simple things more complex are not going to help anybody.
* except after the fact, ie, when I'm reading over instead of typing. Then I go crazy with the mouse highlights. But I suspect the "quick reply" is not intended to involve a lot of post composition emphasis.

Hmm... on the other hand, if you already have the text ready to paste, grabbing the mouse and clicking on the icon followed by typing the paste shortcut key combination might be faster. To be fair, that depends on the presence of modern locale specific keyboards and the quality of the "IME" implementation.Heh, people actually do this when typing for languages like Chinese or Japanese.
A lot of modern Japanese games I've played, those that have any real text entry at least, have a kind of numbered "auto-complete" feature where the software brings up lists while typing out "kana" with each new entry shortening the list and the user can hit the number (on the keyboard) of the relevant entry at any time.
When I actually do know the word I'm shooting for it saves a lot of time.
Not that I really know the correct word all that often. ;_;

Hmm, I looked into this and found that vBulletin already uses CKEditor (https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/entr...ed-by-CKEditor). Is there something I'm missing?
Probably a matter of configuring the CKEditor settings to show more (or fewer) icons in the toolbar.

the code tag button is already there,its been since the very first version of vb , and if it were unnecessary , it shouldn't have been there in first place! i myself am accustomed to work with code tags this way and im way faster this way.
and all i asked was to move the previously existing code tag button to the quick-reply section.
and i dont think having some features available in the quick mode sound irrelevant,cause again there are other formatting features already available !
so adding more features wouldn't harm anything .

the vbs built-in CKeditor doesnt give any more options , but using that mod , those features available in the editors advanced mode , can be made available in quick reply too .
