A little bug report: (I'm on Firefox 9.0.1 on Windows XP. I've tried it with similar failures on Windows 7 and *nix.)
The username/password login box (top right) fails to clear default field text (username/password) on occasion and when this happens the password isn't hidden (*).
I would assume it was some small issue, but sometimes when I see this happen login fails and other times login succeeds.

Dunn of it's a problem with the board, but it seems someone is having trouble posting code (with code tags).
Perhaps you should investigate?
The OP made a thread about it, so I'm attaching the URL just in case: http://cboard.cprogramming.com/gener...ml#post1084293
I've been able to get this reliably on the logout page. Haven't noticed it on any other occasions, though. (Firefox 8.0 on Linux)Quote:

@phantomotap and bernt Hmm, thanks I will investigate this. I am able to reproduce the issue on the logout page as bernt reportes.
Here is an example of the edit control repeating when I edit posts. Notice this post has no code section. If I type a letter anywhere in the edit control it corrects itself. Attached are pictures of a simple edit and advanced edit. Notice both have the same issues. Read through briefly and you will see that sections of previous sentences appear after the first word of a new sentence. Does this have to do with a word wrap failure in the edit control?
I apologize for the material in the post. I wish I had a more lighthearted example to display.
Is it possible to go back to an older version of the edit control - one which didn't accept raw HTML as input?
So we don't end up with a daily dose of illegible code looking like this.Attachment 11385
I'm having issues with the "Next Thread" link at the bottom taking me to not the next thread. For example, I was looking at the General Discussions board, with the following 3 threads at the top:
Attachment 11393
I was reading the middle thread, http://cboard.cprogramming.com/gener...yone-else.html, and when I was done, clicked "Next Thread" at the bottom and it took me to this very thread, http://cboard.cprogramming.com/gener...-4-1-10-a.html. Neither the next nor previous, but about 4 posts down on the list.
EDIT: I seem to recall it happening on one or two other threads, but I can't remember which ones they were. Also, the previous link on this thread doesn't take me back to the "Trying to post code" thread. Not even sure it's related to the upgrade, but I don't remember it happening before.
Any progress on finding out what is causing the weird edit control behavior I am seeing? Is it just my system or are others experiencing this? Steps to reproduce appear to be:
- Post a few sentences
- Edit
- Sentences will have portions of their content on the next line even though they were ended on the previous line.
This is a test of Ace's problem. I am writing a few sentences to try it out. I am running Windows 7 64-bit with FF 9.0.1. We shall see if editing this post cause strange duplication issues. I will make sure I exceed the width of my screen to see if it's a wrapping issue. Well, here goes nothing.
EDIT: Sorry Ace, I think it's just you. Don't get down about it though, it makes you unique!
Hi guys, sorry for the lack of follow-up recently, I have been travelling but I'm now back. I'll be taking a look at these issues over this weekend.
@phantomotap & Elysia I found a bug in the vBulletin bug tracking system related to the Android full site issues and applied a pre-release patch; can you tell me if you still see the problem?
@Salem I can make WYSIWYG NOT the default for newly registered users. I'm curious what others think about this; it makes the experience of new posters a bit worse in some cases, but it ensure that we don't have badly formatted code get pasted in.
@VirtualAce I am also unable to reproduce the issue. Have you tried changing your message editor options under your settings to disable the WYSIWYG editor?
@anduril462 I'm not seeing the behavior you reported when I tried it on this thread. Is it possible that this is happening as a result of the forum post order changing once you load a page? It looks like the link is not to the explicit thread but is instead saying, "go to next thread" at the point where it's clicked.
Yes I tried the other editors. When I clicked on edit with those versions the page did nothing. When I tried to post a quick reply the reply was never sent. Note that I am on IE9 when this is happening and the only 3rd party browser plugin that I have is Spybot S&D but it is disabled. My screenshots show that I'm not crazy (at least for this issue) but I am still not sure what is causing it or how I can correct it.
I will continue to look for causes and possible fixes or workarounds. Seems to have happened since the 4.1.10 update. I do develop on this system so I have the latest .NET 4.0 framework. Maybe somehow the installations messed up my controls somehow? I do not see this behavior in any multi-line WPF text box or Windows Forms edit control. Maybe I could go to another forum that uses vBulletin and see if it happens there?
No, it's not that the order changed after I loaded a page. I thought of that since it happens so often in the C forum. That's why I looked for an example in a less busy forum. The image I posted was actually a before and after shot. Whatever it is/was, it's not happening now, so I guess you can write it off.
Comparing behavior with another forum would be great. I also found that when I use the standard edit control, it works fine for me, which suggests there might be something going on with your system. (Chrome takes me to the advanced editor page. IE does an inline post.)
Have you tried it with a non-IE browser?
