For some reason I keep thinking of a moment from "Until the Light Takes Us"*, where Fenriz from Darkthrone, who looks very LOTR movie elvish, is striding thru this snowy pine forest and says, "Really, Norway is just like New Zealand, only much more grim". Maybe they should shoot The Silmarillion there.
* doc about "Black Metal", ie, Fenriz is a real person...currently on Netflix
