India's "independent" status is different from that of the US since it was granted, and Elizabeth II is still the Queen there, as she is in all Commonwealth nations. I don't know if that's as rich a source of humour there as it is here in Canada. I love the USA but it's a shame they don't have a royal family. You don't know what you are missing. Honestly.

Actually we have a congress of donkeys and elephants but I would not be opposed to switching that to a universal baboon symbol since it so aptly applies to both.
