    Quzah.
To further this random sidetrack, I would like to point out that certain things people think of as being private aren't really. As quzah pointed out about the websites that you chose to visit could log ip addresses, when talking on the phone your right to privacy only exists from an external organization to the phone company. Within the US the phone lines are the legal property of the phone company, and as such, the phone company is allowed to place a tap on a phone line whenever it wants to ensure proper enforcement of terms of use. Note: It is a totally different matter if, say the government wants to do this.

Thus I wouldn't be to surprised if some interpretation like this applied to visiting websites. Since you chose, note keyword chose, to use their content they may have the right to log information which could be required to enforce terms of use for the website.

I'm definitely not worried that a random online IQ test website logs my IP address. They won't.

The results suggested that Internet Explorer surfers had an average IQ in the low eighties
That seems a bit strange. If those 50% of the populace that are below average IQ would all use IE and everybody above 100 would use another browser, even then their average IQ would end up in the nineties. And why would anyone with a low IQ even do an online IQ-Test for fun? I don't think it's fun if you can't solve many of the puzzles. Were all applicants native speakers? A test is just as good as your grasp of the test's language, even if it has a lot of abstract parts and a user agent doesn't have that information.

And last but not least: Im' forced to use IE at work. Do I lose 40 points IQ on my way to work? OK, on some days it really feels that way, but generally speaking I don't think so

Brilliant! 0-day news websites. Take that!

I'll never stop cheering every time this type of news becomes embarrassing to the online news agencies that insist on doing it.

What I would be interested in is a Facebook IQ Test or a Twitter IQ test.

You can't be all that bright if you have nothing better to do than post about your super boring life in the hopes that my super boring life might be elightened by your super boring life.

Oh god! Social Networks + TV, double the stupidity. It's of course impossible not to laugh at Jon Stewart antics. And he's right to mock the sheer social retardation of it all. But I can laugh so much. Fact is I feel I'm living the Decline of the Roman Empire.

I just don't know anymore if these things should be treated with humorous indifference or concerned irritation. I sometimes feel our western societies need a Day of Anger.

the lower IQ scores are probably due to the fact that IE is a slower browser. it takes longer for pages to load, and since time of completion is a key element in any IQ test, a slower browser could have a statistically observable and significant impact on the results.

Edit: didn't finish reading the thread before posting, but if the numbers were real, my point would be valid
