Little known fact: the iconic Canadian clothing company Roots, with the beaver logo, was started by Vietnam conflict era American draft dodgers in the seventies (the US continued to prosecute Vietnam draft dodgers until they were pardoned by George Jr in the late 90's, while Canada refused to extradite them).

Conversely, real life Canadians are always trying to sneak in to USA.

Canada always threatens to cut energy when USA doesn't pay. Unfair!
Actually alot of NA regional power agreements involve paying another area to take excess
energy off your grid because that's cheaper than stopping generation -- so Ontario, Canada occasionally pays Michigan, USA for the privilege of giving them energy.

Celine Dion is a running joke.
If only you knew how much, and how often .

Canadians are always trying to tell USA how to run the world.

Canada's Exclusive Economic Zone gets in the way of a certain country fishing rights. Doesn't matter that it's the only country in the world with an EEC smaller than its territorial waters. They are greedy, and that's just it!
Have not heard about this particular issue before, I presume it involves the North Atlantic banks. Yes, despite our do-good image of the past, we are cut-throats like everyone else now.

The Russians are threatening to fight us navy style over Arctic oil reserves, too. Mebbe you & them should combine forces; I don't think we could hold out on both fronts for long.

Canadian animal species are a scurge upon the rest of the planet.
True, the Canada Goose was blamed for the "Miracle on the Hudson" plane crash a few years ago, and since then it has been open season in some NE US states. The Canadian Beaver is also causing serious problems in ecosystems in South America due to its industrious attitude and lack of predators. Which no doubt is also the case with many Canadian Humans in business in the developing world, heh-heh. If there's one thing we know how to do on a grand scale, it's ruin wilderness while extracting resources.

Mario... why so hostile all the time?

It's a national holiday, usually in the best weather of the year and they have fireworks...

From Wikipedia: "Canada Day (French: Fête du Canada), formerly Dominion Day (French: Le Jour de la Confédération), is the national day of Canada, a federal statutory holiday celebrating the anniversary of the July 1, 1867, enactment of the British North America Act (today called the Constitution Act, 1867), which united three British colonies into a single country, called Canada, within the British Empire."

Hundered years later, to the day:

"Pamela Denise Anderson (born July 1, 1967) is a Canadian-American actress, model, producer, author, activist, and former showgirl, known for her roles on the television series Home Improvement, Baywatch, and V.I.P."

Just a coincidence or does it symbolize something?

You really need to fix your satire detection gauge.

These are all, or used to be not long ago, national jokes. At least as I would hear them when I was living not far from Toronto. One thing I learned from my time there was Canadians great sense of humor. But... there's always exceptions of course.

Pretty quiet actually ... sat around most of the day entertaining friends then the whole bunch of us went to see fireworks and then we hit the hey early.

Jail? I don't do jail, thank you very much.
And we haven't set anyone adrift (???) in a long time...
