    rogue - the screen shot collection

    Any other players of the original D&D hack and slash game?

    This is the best final level I have reached for a long time, armed with just the right goodies to deal with a monster room full of real nasty beasties.

    If you dance barefoot on the broken glass of undefined behaviour, you've got to expect the occasional cut.
    If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

    I hate when people call "Rouge" a "D&D Hack and Slash". There are actual "Hack and Slash" games based on the "D&D" rules you know?

    Anyway, are you talking "Rouge" exclusively, or are you up for any of the classics? (I've always played "netHack".)

    Not playing the original, no. Angband and Stone Soup have been my latest (for the past couple of years or so). I don't think I ever played the original, to be honest. I may have tried it. Don't see why I wouldn't, but I have no memory of doing it.

    NetHack, Dungeon Crawl, ADOM, Moria, and the those two above are the ones which I tend to play since... well, pretty much ever.

    Not that this is related, but it reminded me of the ASCII graphics... if you haven't read this do so now, and forever laugh at BOATMURDERED!

    Boatmurdered!

    I usually don't get into ASCII based games, but this mini saga had me laughing so hard I had to try it out.

    ^_^;

    One of the finest adventures in all of dwarfdom.

    Mordor was a walk in the park after Boatmurdered.

    I play dwarf fortress from time to time. It's evolved to be quite different to the classic rogue like games but I love it's complexity and originality.

    Starkravingmad

    The part under Starkravingmad's reign when the dwarves painted the elephant in the fetal position, and the dead dwarf on the wall of the dining hall... I could not stop laughing.

    Only time I would ever laugh about an elephant massacre.
