What else do you do besides programming? I play the snare drum in marching band, and write poetry and essays on various topics. I don't play video games too often.

For me, being mostly retired, it's home theatre systems for friends of friends, a couple of custom audio setups and some odds and ends electronic repair. Mostly just to keep my name in the game.
For pure pleasure, I have my family and I'm something of a movie addict and a borderline audiophile who just loves music from the 70s and 80s.
I try to pickup something different every few months.
Curiosity mixed with somewhat severe OCD makes for a murderous hobby hound.

In order of time spent (we're excluding programming, right?):
- Work
- Spend time with wife
- Sleep
- Video games
If you understand what you're doing, you're not learning anything.
Electronics desgin, blog, and Starcraft.
Well if you take out programming as a hobby--
- I am an English teacher so I guess work and teach.
- I spend time with my fiancee and explore new places with her
- Listen to music, mostly older rock, underground hip hop, classical and neo-classical
That's pretty much it. I enjoy reading but I always read things related to programming and/or computer science so I have excluded that.
I read that as "I get bored and quit on what I've been trying to do every few months."
I'm curious to know what hobbies you've actually stuck with.
Anyway, to the OP: I play guitar and drums, build computers, play tennis, and go to as many movies as I can afford the time. I also tend to watch and rewatch all of my favorite films and TV shows while I'm doing other things.

- Read. Typically this would be either fantasy, some kind of science fiction, or on history, particularly Japanese history (and culture).
- Play Starcraft 2 badly.
- Freelance

I write topical comedy sketches and songs for radio and stage shows in between writing more normal length pieces. I used to be an avid gamer but the last game I bought was Final Fantasy X and that was god knows how many years ago. Despite the aversion to playing them, I don't mind watching LPs and such from SA and youtube and other game related things like Chrontendo. I reckon I'm a second-hand nerd

I brew beer, pick wild mushrooms, raise chickens and ducks, hike, climb mountains, and act as operations manager for a hand-dyed yarn and knitting business.
The day job is too cool to mention.
