Meh. 10 GB is nothing, so long as their servers can pump out the speed.

Outside of your DOS world, your header file is meaningless.

I'm pretty sure they were contemplating the difficulty it will impose on anyone who wants to play (not everyone has Tier speed to their house or TB HDs), not their servers.

I'm just teasing. But 10-15 GB for the game (high-end version). What's the deal? That's what all games nowadays take up. Free some space. Delete some old games. Games take up a lot of space.
On a related side note: the servers are slow. Only pumping out ~500 kb/s. Will take forever to download.

Since it's been free for only about 2 days, I'd imagine there must be many many people trying to download, so the download should speed up within a week or 2 once the rush is over.

Unfortunately for me, 10 gb is beyond my ability to d/l with my internet connection, so I will have to give this one a miss.

There is a lower-end version which undoubtedly is smaller to download. Don't know the size, though.

At least until it's free. Everquest 2 also has a free to play model. And I'm on both, if anyone wants to group up.

I've been in LOTRO for quite a while. It doesn't have PvP which is normally why I play MMOs, but I have to say, I like LOTRO.

Of course since it's been free to play, the server load is way up which has its drawbacks in that they have been hiccuping on weekends, when I get to play, but apart from that I'm happy about the influx of new people.

I have several characters on Elendilmir.
You ever try a pink golf ball, Wally? Why, the wind shear on a pink ball alone can take the head clean off a 90 pound midget at 300 yards.

I prefer DDO, Turbine's other F2P game, as it is much more like a FPS than an MMO.

    Also a smaller download....

I just find it ridiculous that the only real mage class is restricted in the game. That is, unless you pay €30. Like a whole new game. Ridiculous.
