I didn't know there was a .net framework assistant for firefox until yesterday. But I digress; exactly what makes you call this malware, Salem? Annoyed much?

Firefox has insane amounts of add-ons to personalize everything in your browser. You can get add-ons for spam, ease of use, security, web design and development. It's also supposed to be more stable.
My problem with it is it seems to be real laggy in linux. I swapped to chrome, but it doesn't have all the extra features. I'm thinking about trying Opera. I've never actually used it.

- It installed without permission
- It's purpose is vaguely explained
