Most everything else just goes away when you tell it, but this PoS - jump through those hoops you loser!
How to remove the .NET Framework Assistant for Firefox

If at first you don't succeed, try writing your phone number on the exam paper.

It's faster (maybe not at initial program load, but page loading), doesn't crash as much, and has a lot of nice addons available (adblock-plus, flashblock, greasymonkey, etc.).

Does Firefox use .NET on Windows?
    I always use Google Chrome.

I didn't know there was a .net framework assistant for firefox until yesterday. But I digress; exactly what makes you call this malware, Salem? Annoyed much?

Firefox has insane amounts of add-ons to personalize everything in your browser. You can get add-ons for spam, ease of use, security, web design and development. It's also supposed to be more stable.

My problem with it is it seems to be real laggy in linux. I swapped to chrome, but it doesn't have all the extra features. I'm thinking about trying Opera. I've never actually used it.

    - It installed without permission
    - It's purpose is vaguely explained
    - It's removal is a PITA
