Isn't there any sort of forum which i could use to post any UMTS related question. When I say question like proper UAS (RRS/RLC/MAC/NAS/L1) question.
Its so furstrating that I have questions to ask, as I work on them. Being said that i do speak to my seniors at work. But it would nice to ask question in the public forums, so that i'm totally dependent on my seniors.

Be realistic. How many people do you think are busy chopping up the 3G airwaves?
I'd love to give it a go but my dongle was dirt cheap and it shows. It runs a PPP connection between my computer and itself (UMTS uses its own protocol for network traffic) and dies in the middle of browsing (power light goes off on the dongle) for no discernable reason. Only if I'm browsing mind, I can leave it alone for hours and it will still be connected.
No idea what you mean with those terms but if it has something to do with radio waves doesn't the ARRL has any information then?

Though there are not many. It would always be useful to share the information within a small group.

The issue is more likely to be the chipset on the dongle. How is your operator? From what your saying the power to the dongle dropped or perhaps its get restarted every time you browse. I would really suspect the chipset on the dongle. I would be interested in knowing the chipset designer.

They are the different layers of 3G Protocol stack or the UMTS. If your mobile is a 3G capable then you would expect all those layer function within your radio chipset.

This isn't a website devoted to specific technologies such as that. I think the name of the site says it all. Too many forums = lack of focus = big disaster in the making.
Thats right. But the question is if there were any out there, which i could find, perhaps someone here would have known.
