I started out with Zork and other Infocom related games which you can download if you can filter out the half-baked games on The Interactive Fiction Archive . Also if you install any version of Emacs in the Tools->Games menu you can find the Colassal Cave adventure (here just called 'adventure') that you can play in a window. Handy for long meetings when they think you are taking notes
