    Haunted turntable

    Last night, I was behind the TV plugging some things in, and I heard a low-pitched whirring noise. At first I didn't pay any attention to it because I thought it was coming from outside, but I looked and noticed that my turntable spinning very fast- I'm guessing it was spinning at 200+ RPM. I turned off the power (I usually leave the power on, even when the platter is stopped) and after it wound down, I turned it back on and it seems to be working normally now.

    Does anyone have any idea what could have caused this?
    I copied it from the last program in which I passed a parameter, which would have been pre-1989 I guess. - esbo

    My guess is a flow of electrons through a conductor in the presence of a magnetic field.
