Do any of you guys use this? It appears that some people are posting CV's about what they have or are working on which is essentially leaking information about upcoming and unofficial or unannounced games and projects. This could be a bit dangerous if used incorrectly.
Yes, but I think some people are too unrealistically secretive sometimes. For example the thread below. No one is stalking cboard trying to find out if XUser is working on a game or on a website or for the government. That kind of information is useless, and even so, I think it would be better if information were more free and open anyway.

In any case, in my opinion, it only makes sense if one is under a confidential agreement with their employer. Otherwise it's merely a personal choice whether I wish or not to divulge details about my professional life and to whom. I cannot see many contexts in which it can hold any kind of power.
LinkedIn however surely has the potential for conscious and unconscious information leaking that could be protected by confidential agreements. Even more so because the whole social structure it proposes can only be sustained by information dissemination. Naturally this is not a problem with LinkedIn, but with people using the service. But being this a service which real purpose ends up being Jub Hunting, it's hard to keep information for oneself at the risk of loosing an opportunity.
It's another challenge for companies to make sure their confidential agreements are being respected in these social networks. And speaking of companies, this is what I consider the most interesting feature of LinkedIn. You can investigate a lot of details about a company and talk to people who work or have worked there. Invaluable.

I have seen a few leaks on Linkedin from (mainly game) devs posting about unannounced projects.
I am on Linkedin but I am careful not to disclose any info that may violate an NDA.

I have almost 8,000 connections b/c of work. Most of them are game companies. Even though it is cool to see dev, management, and sales contacts from Mythic, Bethesda, Epic, BioWare, and so forth I doubt just having them as contacts gives me any kind of advantage. It's like a Facebook page that has thousands of 'friends' even though none of them ever communicate or know each other exists.
Right now it is pretty useless to me. That's not to say it may not help in the future but right now I don't see much use for it.
