Is there any way to exit Emacs without saving and without getting that annoying save prompt? Like q! in Vim.

Personal fav:
C programming resources:
GNU C Function and Macro Index -- glibc reference manual
The C Book -- nice online learner guide
Current ISO draft standard
CCAN -- new CPAN like open source library repository
3 (different) GNU debugger tutorials: #1 -- #2 -- #3
cpwiki -- our wiki on sourceforge
Hmmm Ctrl-X-C....let me try it with half-saved documents...
OK that still asks to save; I have my GNU Emacs manual around here somewhere, will check and get back...
Peace
I don't know any way to disable that prompt. But I bet the frustration caused by accidentally quitting without saving something important is 10000 times higher than the frustration of having to type "yes" to quit with an unsaver buffer.
Code://try //{ if (a) do { f( b); } while(1); else do { f(!b); } while(1); //}
I gotta agree with Brewbuck on this one; I cannot think of a situation where this is the right answer. However Alt-F4 would probably work pretty darned well on Linux (universal close window command)..
will do what you want, and, of course, you can bind it to any key combination you choose.Code:M-x kill-emacs
You could try setting the variable "confirm-kill-emacs" to something non nil in your .emacs file. That's what get's checked by the exit command.
