The most international of all caricaturists. Both because of the visibility of his work which has been a constant in newspapers and magazines a little all around the world, but also for his deep knowledge of the world politics and society in the general so often translated into masterful caricatures of foreign personalities most of the American public had never heard of before.

I learned of his death today. It touches me particularly because my youth (pretty much since newspapers started to interest me) was populated by him. My father was also a huge caricatures fan (and held Levine high) and would collect a lot of his work.
