But the Hydrochloric Acid ruins the rush heroin is intended to give, and deacteylates the heroin molecule on both sides, and reduces 100% of the heroin into morphine. But when you snort/inject it, it only deacteylates half of the molecule, leaving 6-monoacetylmorphine(6-MAM), which is a VERY potent drug. Heroin itself is extremely weak, it's the the first pass metabolism that makes it potent. Taking it orally/anally defeats the purpose and is the same as taking oral morphine.

To be perfectly honest, most overdoses occur when a user with a lower tolerance injects the drug and the user's kidney's are unable to keep up with the amount of drug that the brain is getting via the blood brain barrier. When you snort it, your body has more than three minutes to figure out what the hell you just put in it before you OD and thus lessens your chances of pulling a Pulp Fiction.
