    $150 space probe

I don't know if I have ever drank $150 worth of beer, but this project was still pretty cheap.

I've drank $150 worth of beer, but not when I was 18 miles high.

I wonder what an average internal combustion engine would look like from so unimaginably far away...almost nothing, I guess.

Heh... perhaps Abachler is not from a big city? Depending on your draft of choice, $150 worth of beer in NYC can be a pretty average drinking night. This just goes to show you where the drive to accomplish goes when the government offers you basically as much money as you want to do whatever it is that they don't understand. How many top NASA guys are ex-MIT, anyway?

Every project will expand to fit the available budget.

If you have a lot of money you can do something wonderful or wasteful, if you have next to nothing you can do something wonderful or just lie more vigorously than usual.

And no, I don't go drinking at bars for teh most part, unless they have a good pool table, then my limit is 2 (rum and cokes). An expensive bar around here is like $5 a beer, so 30 beers and I'd be trashed. Since I'm usually the designated driver that wouldn't be a good deal.

...and what happens when that massive budget's been wasted on the executives' bonuses? You whip out a handy-cam and some spare memory foam and tell the media that you've been to the moon!

Squeezing your eyes shut may help, but if you are actually driving the vehicle with the I.C.E. then you run the risk of falling prey to certain obvious and apocalytic denials.

This one's totally gorgeous if you dig crisp sepia-tone shots of steam engines. Miracles of horsepower and ingenuity. Mostly lower atmosphere, < 1 mile.

Links to the photos themselves would be better, I find most peoples taste in music ... 'under developed' especially when after a minute it goes from a normal volume to suddenly blaring switches genre and its 3am in the apartment where i live.

My LAN parties usually involve less beer and more weed, and usually an RTS like SupCom. Different strokes for different folks.

I'm getting a couple of friends together and we are going to try the same little project that these MIT guys did. I read this story on slashdot a few days ago, and it intrigued me.

    It's gonna be sweet!

I'm already there, a lot of the shots are blurry, but some of them are real keepers.
