I remember way back in the day when the ad for Battlecruiser 3000AD came out. It had a hot model in a short nightie standing in the doorway while the dumb significant other was playing the game on the computer. I forget what the catch phrase was but everyone knew it was far too bold to be true. Come to find out after playing the game a good romp in the hay was about the only thing that would make you forget the worst disaster ever placed on a CD ROM.

Yeah that game had potential, tut the guy totally ........ed up the user interface, made it so obtuse it was unplayable. Then he renamed it something (I Forget) and tried selling it again, and got the same feedback.

They seem to have made enough $$$ for a lot of ads. Why look a gift horse in the mouth?
Of course, if the real game would have appealed to you whereas saving some queen does not, then there is a problem.

I belong to a gaming forum, and we have discussed at length about these very same ads....
They do work, because they have ONE goal, get the target audience in....
Boys just young enough and up that subconsciously are attracted to the ads.
Period.
I remember how so many threads were created (usually from eleven to fourteen year olds) complaining that the game wasn't even in 3d like the ads.....
The mods/admins ended up having to divert them to a single "casual banter" thread
